7.   CAVING SECRETARY’S REPORT

There is a keen group of cavers that cave every week and sometimes twice a week.

8.    TREASURER’S REPORT

Another profit to report. This time around £250. There is also another £44 due to the club for the year 2004, though not received at the time I made up the accounts, so couldn’t be included. Income and expenditure were both more than previous years. Partly because it was a 14 month year, and partly because subscriptions were higher to cover the higher insurance cost. Redcliffe income was actually less than 2003, because we gave away more in expenses. Sales of t-shirts etc just about covered their cost (if I include the £44 owed) but we do have a few spares in hand. I have enjoyed being treasurer. It is not a difficult job. I have not had the accounts audited. I have just not had the time to drive to Shipham. I did not see that auditing was that essential, as most of my receipts are hand written by me, and the auditor can only checks my maths not my honesty. The next treasurer is most welcome to get the last accounts audited though. I will confess that I ended up with £17.50 too much cash in hand, so I included it in ‘other income’. It is quite likely that it was my money – sometimes I have to give people change at meetings, and there is none, so I use my own money. Usually I make a note that the club owes me this money, so I can make the correct adjustments later. Just in case the auditor finds something else I have left it as ‘other income’

As with the secretary post, I am quite happy to do this job again anytime, though not at the same time as being librarian.

9.    TACKLE WARDEN’S REPORT

The Old tackle has now been cleared out and new tackle purchased. There is not a great demand to borrow tackle however lights are being borrowed on a regular basis.

10.   JOURNAL EDITOR’S REPORT

Nothing much to report. Only one journal produced. Miniscule amount of articles coming from within the club.

Hugh Tucker.

11.    LIBRARIAN’S REPORT

I have not bought anything this year other than 7 issues of Descent magazine, and some box files for storing loose papers that the library seems to acquire quite a lot of! Two or three books have been bought on behalf of the library by Alan and John D, who have been recompensed.

As usual, several other club journals have been added to the library during the year.

I have had the library for over 8 years now. Anyone else want a turn??

12.   RESCUE CO-ORDINATOR’S REPORT

There were no rescue practices in 2004 and none were requested.

Paul Hodgson.

13.   CONSTITUTION CHANGES

None proposed.
